Every bed, accounted for. Not a diary and a dozen group chats.
hoopmo is one simple app for PGs (India's paying-guest hostels), hostels and co-living spaces. Beds, rent, deposits, maintenance, all in one place. Made for the owner, and for the staff who actually run the place. It keeps working when the internet doesn't.
17 of 24 beds filled
Empty 9 days · ≈ ₹6,500 waiting
This is how hoopmo sees your building. Every bed, live.
A day you know
Sound familiar?
-
7:40 am
“bhaiya, bathroom mein paani nahi aa raha” sir, there’s no water in the bathroom.
First message of the day. It won’t be the last.
-
12:15 pm
Two tenants chased for last month’s rent. Today’s collection scribbled into the logbook. Somewhere.
-
10:58 pm
A bed in 203 has been empty a week, you think. Sunday’s enquiry is buried three chats deep, gone cold. And that deposit argument is still going round in your head.
You didn't buy a building to run a call centre. Yet somehow, here you are.
It's not you.
It's the tools.
Run a place on memory and a diary, and you're really running it on one person who never gets to switch off. The day they're busy, or unwell, or opening a second place, things start to slip. A bed stays empty. An enquiry goes quiet. Rent just… doesn't show up.
It doesn't have to be this hard. Give the place its own way of running. Something that quietly holds the details, so you can stop running the day and start making it better.
4 empty beds ≈ ₹26,000 a month
That's about $310, gone every month, and nobody ever decided to lose it.
At a typical ₹6,500-per-bed rent.
Stop paying for empty beds → join the waitlistThe hoopmo way
No more guessing.
Beds
Every vacancy the moment it happens. Never a bed quietly empty for nine days.
Enquiries
Every lead in one place, none going cold in a chat thread.
Payments
Who’s paid, who’s pending, and who needs a nudge before the 5th, not after.
Maintenance & queries
Out of the logbook, into a list that doesn’t vanish by morning.
One calm place for the stuff that actually matters. Rent reminders that go out on their own. Deposits that do their own math, so move-outs end with a handshake instead of a fight.
Inside hoopmo: every bed, live.
Why I'm building hoopmo
This started with a friend.
He and his wife run five PGs (paying-guest hostels) in India. For years, the whole thing lived in one fat logbook and in their heads. Every enquiry, every empty bed, every “I'll pay next week,” every geyser that broke down at the worst possible time.
I asked him to walk me through one normal day. And honestly, what I heard wasn't a software problem. It was two people carrying an entire business in their memory, with nowhere to set it down. What he wanted wasn't fancy. He just wanted it out of that logbook, so he could stop running the day and start making it better.
So that's what I'm building. Out in the open, one honest piece at a time, getting the boring-but-hard parts right before moving on. Join the list and you'll watch it grow. Better still: tell me where I've got it wrong.
